Photo Classes

Digital 101 Photo Class

When: Monday July 12 & Wednesday July 21

Time: 5:30 - 7:30 PM

Overview:

This 2 hour class will introduce the digital camera user to the basic operations of their digital SLR or 'point-and-shoot' camera. Topics covered include:

• Basic photographic concepts (shutter speed, aperture, focus)
• Basic flash (strobe) concepts and approaches
• Camera card use and maintenance
• File sizing and management
• White balance and color management
• Image preparation for printing and/or emailing
• Exposure control relative to digital capture
• and more!

Class fee and description:

$25 for 2 hours of lecture, Q and A, and one-on-one assistance with personal camera equipment. Owning a digital camera is not necessary, but attendees are encouraged to bring a digital camera to class.

About the instructor:

Avram Halperin is a Professional Photographer living and working in Burlington, Vermont. He specializes in Commercial Photography and Digital Photo Restoration, and is the current Professor of Digital Photography at Champlain College. 

Intro to Flash Photography 

When: Wednesday July 28

Time: 6:30 - 7:30 PM

Overview:

This one hour class is an introductory course in Flash Photography. Class material includes:

• On-board Flash use
• External Flash use
• Professional Strobe use
• Exposure settings relative to Aperture and Shutter Speed
• White balancing flash photos
• Some special effects

Cost: $25.00 payable at the time of sign up.
